DAVID CROFT
Coast Build Consulting Inc. (CoastBuild) has been operating on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland since 2009. Over this time, it has been involved with building envelope and energy assessments for hundreds of buildings, including commercial, multi-family and single-family residences. We have worked with several First Nations communities to assess the energy use of both existing buildings and new construction projects. We have expertise with building energy assessments, building envelope design, energy modelling, photovoltaic (PV) systems and project management.
CoastBuild is a registered Energy Advisor company registered with Canadian Home Builders Association of B.C. and operates energy advising services in accordance with NRCAN EnerGuide Rating System (ERS).

We work to help you build capacity in your organization and community for independence and a permanent clean energy transition.
CoastBuild is currently made up of two partners and a team of support consultants and contractors. Our size allows us to quickly respond to enquiries while maintaining the ability to stay nimble focus on a small number of clients. We can work quickly and efficiently to deliver our skillsets to you without being distracted by many clients.
Energy advisor Kuan Jian Foo (he/him)
Kuan has a diverse background in the energy sector ranging from residential energy efficiency projects to complex community building energy management. Kuan also has 12 years of experience in the solar energy sector being one of the founding members of the Vancouver Island worker coop, Viridian Energy. Kuan has also become a trusted energy advisor and developer for the British Columbia and Alberta Co-Operative Associations and has provided consulting services to several developing co-operatives in the renewable energy sector. He is currently working with the Haida Gwaii Renewable Energy Coop. Kuan is a certified NRCAN Energy Advisor for single and multi-family residential buildings.
David Croft, P.Eng.
David is a Professional Engineer registered with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC). David focuses primarily on building envelope design and energy modelling for multifamily dwellings, new construction, and community buildings. David has an undergraduate degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Masters Degree in Building Science from BCIT where he worked on software for building modelling and simulation.
