Samahqyam Nation Building Energy Step Code Design and Testing

Stl’atl’imx Territory (Pemberton, BC)
The Samahquam Nation is constructing 9 new homes for their community to replace existing homes that are in flood prone locations. These homes are designed to meet Step 3 or 4 of the BC Energy Step Code. Coast Build will conduct an analysis of the thermal energy demand intensity (TEDI), mechanical energy use intensity (MEUI) and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) of these buildings and work with the project team to achieve higher levels of the Step Code while finding the most cost efficient solutions.
Coast Build will be creating energy models, step code compliance reports, air barrier testing reports, and design recommendations for these new climate resilient homes to ensure they meet step code requirements. In addition, this project includes construction support for air barrier details, as well as air barrier testing during mid construction, and air tightness after final construction.
